UV.story: A pioneering spirit for a solar power plant
“How can we achieve even more with solar power?” In 2022, this question led Steffen Theurer to a brilliant idea: turning car parks into small power stations!
This would allow us to tackle climate change on a large scale, both locally and globally. To ensure this works seamlessly, he has developed revolutionary AI software that allows you to plan and order a complete solar carport system with just a few clicks.
Perfectly and precisely tailored to individual requirements.
Solar canopy developed in-house
But no such system existed anywhere. Steffen Theurer was absolutely convinced that his idea was feasible and could make a real difference on a large scale. So he developed an elegant, parking-friendly solar canopy himself. Together with his AI software, the ‘uv 360° Operations Platform’, the way was clear:
- green energy without taking up new land
- radically simplified project processes
- radically reduced approval times
First prototype after just one year
With support from angel investors, Startup-BW and L-Bank, he demonstrated the following year with a prototype that his idea worked perfectly and seamlessly in everyday life: a solar power plant in the form of a carport that provided shade without requiring a single square centimetre of additional space. It proved that the energy transition can begin in any car park.
Further developing the energy transition
Today, UV.energy has long since moved beyond the development phase; implementation is now underway, from car park to car park, from mobility hub to mobility hub, and across borders. At the same time, UV.energy is developing further PV power plant concepts, all of which are based on a single idea: transforming existing infrastructure into energy infrastructure and making the energy transition a reality quickly and easily.
