Solar power plant supplies green electricity to car park users
At VR-Bank’s headquarters in Böblingen, the modular UV.carports serve as a photovoltaic car park power plant, driving a decentralised energy transition. The 60 kWp PV system covers 21 parking spaces, supplies green electricity to the bank, charges electric cars, provides protective shade for vehicles and makes the site temporarily 100% self-sufficient.
Project details
- Duration: 10 weeks
- Parking spaces: 21
- Electric charging points: 3
- Power output: 60 kWp
The result really stands out in everyday use. The carports look high-quality, and the solution suits our location and our commitment to responsibility and sustainability. Thank you to the whole team at UV.energy.

The car park is becoming a solar power station
The innovative photovoltaic canopy, with a capacity of just under 60 kWp and providing cover for 21 parking spaces, was developed specifically for existing paved areas. UV.carports’ patented lightweight construction requires only two supports per parking space. It also combines an integrated AC charging infrastructure with intelligent energy management. The fully integrated system complements the existing rooftop PV to enable the bank to achieve 100% self-sufficiency at times. Launched in July 2025, the system has been running smoothly in normal operation ever since.

Quick implementation without blocking parking spaces
The construction of traditional solar carports is often hampered by financial and logistical hurdles: months-long building sites, blocked customer car parks, and the enormous effort required for groundworks and foundations. UV.energy’s rapid deployment system solves these problems in no time at all. Standardised components and application-specific point foundations eliminate the need for complex groundworks. Installation took place within a few days whilst the bank remained open; the usual complete closure of the car park was not required. Customers were able to visit the bank without restriction during the installation period.
